LED Voltage Display, 3-Digits

This easy-to-use voltmeter is ideal for evaluating 1 to 3 cell lithium polymer (LiPo), and lithium ion (Li-Ion, A123) battery packs. It's designed to plug into their charge/balance port connector. It is very small and can be mounted on mobile equipment. It's a great tool for the ham shack, robotic applications, video equipment power monitoring, and more.

The video clip below shows it in action. The voltage on Cell-1 is 3.30VDC, Cell-2 is 3.31VDC, and Cell-3 is 3.27VDC.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the voltmeter you simply plug it into the balance port of the battery pack. The display will sequence through each cell and display its voltage. The decimal dot is used to show which cell in the pack is being measured.

The Voltmeter's 4-pin balance port connector has a common ground pin and three taps (C-1 thru C-3) for connection of up to three cells in the battery pack. Balance port pin ordering will vary among battery brands, so be sure to observe the required pin order.
