The EM-406A GPS Module is the recommended replacement.
Description: The GlobalSat EM-411 GPS module is based on the popular SiRF Star III chipset. This tiny integrated package includes on-board voltage regulation, LED status indicator, SuperCap backed RAM, and a sensitive patch antenna. The interface cable is included too.
The EM-411's NMEA-0183 compatible serial output uses 2.8V TTL logic levels. If you need standard RS-232 levels (+/-12V) then the popular MAX232 family of RS-232 interface chips can be used.
Keep in mind that these modules are easily damaged by incorrect wiring or excessive voltage. If you do that you will be rewarded with something no more useful than a fancy paper weight.

FAQ:
Question: What is the difference between the EM-411 and EM-406A?
Answer: They are essentially identical. Same SiRF Star III chip set, performance, size, and weight. The only difference we have found is that the RS-232 Tx and Rx signals are swapped on the 6-pin connector. Yes, if you swap them externally you can freely use either GPS.
Discontinued. Please use the EM-406A GPS Module.
